Dark Dancer is about freedom, instinct and the beauty found in allowing movement to lead, untamed, imperfect and entirely its own.
Set against a deep midnight ground, it is a bold, expressive diptych alive with movement and energy. Sweeping forms in blush, plum, ochre, olive and soft cream twist and collide across the canvas, creating a sense of rhythm that feels almost choreographed.
There is a beautiful tension between the darkness of the background and the warmth of the layered colour, moments of softness giving way to sharper marks, unexpected edges and flashes of intensity. The forms seem to appear, disappear and reform, much like a dancer caught between movements.
Archival satin varnish sealer has been applied to this artwork to preserve the integrity of the pigments and materials.
